Accessibility 3D Virtual Learning Environment


The objective of this research project to provide greater access to virtual learning environments in 3D (3DVLEs), such as SecondLife. This was done through the development of open source viewer called AccessGlobe the web interface which can enable users to participate in the 3DVLE.

The project is supported by the Learning and Education Council of Australia Ltd, an initiative of the Australian Government - Department of Education, education, employment and labor relations.

Leaders of the project team and Dr. Denis Wood and Associate Professor Jerry Bloustien (University of South Australia), and team members include staff from the University of South Australia, Flinders University, University of Sydney, Edith Cowan University, Royal Melbourne Institute, Monash University and the University of Sheffield.
